Custom Takedown Rifles
Our take down models can be built on most desirable bolt actions as a basis for the basic rifle. There is an almost unlimited choice of compatible calibers to choose from. And the number of barrels per rifle is only limited by your imagination and your wallet.
More and more hunters, especially those who travel a lot, are requesting take down rifles. Placed in a compact Cabela’s or similar take down case, it can be added to most large travel bags or duffels. It is secure and disguised in a duffel or bag and there is less chance of theft of your rifles. The ease of portability has also been a fine selling point for our take down rifles.
Each scope will return to zero with each change of barrel. This makes it ideal for quick change overs in hunting situations.

All rifles are priced based on action choice, caliber choices and stock choices. We will give each client a clear and concise quote after a thorough consultation based on wants, needs and desires along with compatibility of calibers.
Mauser 98 Take Down Rifle
This rifle is built with two barrels and fore ends. One is in 25-06 Rem. and the other in .338-06 Ackley Imp. We use Shilen stainless match quality barrels, fluted to reduce weight. A Gentry 3 position Mod. 70 style shroud safety is installed, as well as a Timney trigger. The action is precision ground and squared. Black ceramic coat is applied to all metal. Jeweled bolt body. Tally Q.D. rings and bases for a Leupold 3.5-10x Matte scope for the 25-06 Rem. and a Leupold 1.5-5x Matte scope for the .338-06 Ackley Imp.
The stock is a beautiful piece of fiddle back maple blank from Cecil Freidi. All three pieces of wood came from the same blank. The stock is in the classic style with shadow line check piece and point pattern checkering. All work is done in house. It is finished with a decelerator recoil pad, Talley swivel bases, ebony tips and Brownell grip cap.
This rifle shoots hand loads with 110 Nosler Accu-Bond in the 25-06 under 1/2″ and 210 Nosler Prt. in the .338-06 under 7/8″.
It is shipped in a Cabela’s “Bullet Proof” aluminum case, 32″ x 15″ x 4″ for safety and ease of transporting.
.300 Rem. Ultra Mag.
This rifle is set up in calibers .458 Lott and .300 Wby. Both barrels, of Shilen stainless match grade quality, are fitted with RCR muzzle brakes. NECG front and rear sights.
Talley Q.D. rings and bases. Gentry barrel band swivels. All metal is black ceramic coated, for durability and appearance. Hi-Tech fiberglass stock with a Kick-Eze recoil pad. The stock is painted with green textured paint with an epoxy overcoat. An Edwards recoil reducer was installed in the butt.
Scoped with Leupold 2.5-8x and Leupold 1.5-5 L. D. R.
At the clients request this take down shoots factory loads. The .458 Lott shoots 1/2″ with Hornady factory ammo and the .300 Wby. shoots 3/4″ with Wby. factory ammo.

6.5-06 Ackley Improved.
98 Mauser, Shilen Match barrel, custom laminated stock. Shot 7/16″ group for 5 shots, taking it down before each shot and .415″ group, together, for 5 shots. 1 1/2 x 5 Leupold scope.
Rem 700 with .308 and 22-250
.308 and 22-250 switch barrels. Hi-Tech fiberglass stock. Adjustable length of pull butt. Matte finished with Jewell trigger. Groups with factory ammo for both barrels shot under 1/2″.
Long Range Take Down Rifle
Long range rifle in conventional or take down. This rifle it a 1914 Enfield, blue printed. In 7.82 Warbird, 8.59 Titan and .510 Wells Express. McMillan fiberglass stock, Krieger barrels, Horus Vision Falcon 5-20×50 Long Range Steel Illuminator Scope, the ultimate long range system capable of correction to + one mile.

TAKEDOWN CONVERSIONS:
The Ruger Hawkeye rifles lend themselves quite well to our takedown system. For those who would like the portability of a takedown rifle, but not the expense of a full custom rifle we will be glad to make your Ruger Hawkeye into a takedown rifle.
The takedown rifle is very easy to put into a backpack with the scope for long backpack hunts on foot, horseback, or for airline travel.
These rifles have the same accuracy, time and again, as our full custom takedown rifles.
