Orders for rifle repairs, rebarreling, and conversions and custom rifle orders will be 100% payment to get the work done. For custom rifle orders there are no refunds or changes made to the order once the order has been finalized.
All custom rifles whether they are long range, takedown, benchrest, varmint, or tactical rifles, with custom wood, laminate, or fiberglass stocks are designed specifically for each client. This individual attention to each facet of every custom order places the finished product far above average. As a result of the exacting standards Randy has many repeat customers. One has even had over 20 custom rifles made by Randy in the last three decades.

Randy has been a gunsmith and tool and die maker, machinist since 1969. He has a strong work ethic backed by the learning experience from many of the top experts in the field over the years, a formal education with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences with a major in Gun Smithing and a lifetime experience hunting using the rifles he has built. He has also been on many hunts where rifles he has built have been used to successfully bring down big game with one shot. He prides himself on the accuracy and durability of his rifles, while maintaining a very pleasing aesthetic look.
A custom firearm is a life-long investment and will be a pleasure to use and to pass on as an heirloom.
Randy works with each client to come up with the exact rifle needed to meet the needs, desires, performance for each individual. All rifles are finished, in and out, to the highest standard, including custom checkering, done on site. Depending on the desires of the client a custom hard wood, or composite stock will be custom built for a “hand in glove” fit, or a top of the line fiberglass stock can be used and modified if needed to suit the particular needs of each client.
While most rifles will shoot 1/2″ or better groups, others may not, but will shoot under 7/8″. This is more because of the components chosen ,in bullets most particularly, than the accuracy of the rifle. As in any situation, there are manufacturing tolerances and while the rifle is up to it, the tolerance of some bullets may not be. That is why we find that a good discussion of the type of components you expect to use, and our recommendations is a very good starting point for the basis of a very accurate custom rifle.
We feel this shop is unique because of the experience I bring to each custom rifle. Not only do I have extensive experience in building custom rifles, but because of my training with Les Bowman and all of my own ballistic work and data, we can offer custom work up loads to give optimal performance. Further, Randy’s experience and training in the field of tool and die making, machinist bring qualifications not found in many shops. He is also experienced in engineering and design.
All orders for custom rifles are final once the order is placed. No changes, no refunds.

HEIRLOOM RIFLE
Do you want a custom rifle that will become your favorite hunting rifle but also an heirloom?
Pictured is our grandson, Landon Selby, at 18, with a rife made for Robert Boyd, Cathy’s Dad, in 1980 for his 50th birthday. In 2014 Dad decided it was time to pass it on, as his sight is not good enough to shoot any longer. His great-grandson Landon was the logical choice as a “lefty”. Randy reblued the rifle and cleaned up the stock but left, at Dad’s insistence, the marks of “history” upon it, which tells its story.
This rifle and scope will be 35 years old in the fall of 2015.
The rifle: Ruger #1 action, barreled with Shilen match chrome-moly barrel in 6mm Rem. Claro walnut stock; steel trap butt plate; made for left hand shooter with left cheek piece with bead border; checkered with multipoint pattern in fleur-de-lis; special mount bases designed and machined by Randy to position scope for proper positioning and eye relief. It is topped with a 2-7 Burris full field scope.
